About Dr. Ting...
Paul H. Ting, M.D. is the former Guide for About Anesthesiology, an internet website that existed from February 1997 to October 2001. Some of the content here on the site was originally published for the About Anesthesiology site and is reproduced by permission.
Dr. Ting completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Subsequently, he did residency training at the University of Miami Department of Anesthesiology/Jackson Memorial Hospital. While a resident, he played a role in the development and launch of the department website.
Following residency training, Dr. Ting served as Medical Director of Anesthesiology at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Ting was responsible for starting a patient education program addressing anesthesia for labor and delivery.
Dr. Ting is currently a practicing anesthesiologist and Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia Health Center. His duties there include resident education as well as development of electronic, computer and internet resources for educational purposes.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Ting is also active as a part time web designer and consultant. He specializes in the production of medical content for the internet and related media. He is an ongoing contributer to a number of websites.
